What is informed consent?
Before a potential volunteer can be enrolled in a research study at our
center, they must be given an Informed Consent Form approved by the
UCSD Human Research Protections Program. Ample time will be given
to any interested participant to read and ask questions about the study
for which they are being consented. A medical professional will be available
to answer all of your questions.
You must be provided with all the details of the study, including the possible
risks and benefits, and have all of your questions answered, prior to giving
informed consent.
